Individual plug in heaters in University buildings

The University’s Thermal Comfort Policy does not permit the use of individual plugin heaters in University buildings.

These heaters present a fire safety risk and interfere with building heating systems. If you have any building temperature related concerns, these can be logged via the Estates Support Desk at estatessupport@lincoln.ac.uk

For health related building temperature concerns, colleagues are asked to contact their PPC business partner who will be able to advise and support through Occupational Health.

Staff are asked to ensure that all individual plug in heaters are removed from University buildings by 17 December, with the exception of those that have been provided by Estates.

Building checks will be conducted over the next few weeks to ensure that all heaters have been removed.

Any individual plug in heaters found in University buildings from the 18 December will be removed and will be made available for collection for a period of two weeks. Staff can contact the Support Desk to arrange collection.
