The University has an Environmental Management System that has been accredited by the Investors in the Environment (iiE) scheme www.iie.uk.com/
Investors in the Environment (iiE) is a nationwide environmental accreditation scheme. It is designed to help businesses save money and the environment by improving their energy efficiency and reducing their environmental impact.
The University achieved accreditation to the scheme in October 2014 and the University was awarded a Green Star Award. In January 2017 the University’s accreditation to the standard was approved for another year. Each year as part of the accreditation process the University produces an environmental manual for the IIE standard. This document describes the work that the organisation has done to improve its environmental performance and compares performance against a baseline year.
