Sustainability Campaign Calendar launched

This year, our Environment Team launched our first ever year-round campaign calendar around sustainability at the University of Lincoln.

After starting off the Academic year with a campaign around the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs, or Global Goals), October was spent with a focus on recycling, holding events on campus and educating students on how to recycle better. In the last few weeks, we’ve attended the Fresher’s Fayre, the PG Fayre and have given out water bottles in the Library. We were also visited by Dr Bike and Access Lincoln and are looking forward to welcoming the former back later this month.

We harvested any remaining vegetables from the Kitchen Garden, enlisting the help of several volunteers to help dig out and weed the beds, ready for the next stage of work in the Spring.

We’ll be holding another event to refill the Kitchen Garden raised beds with fresh topsoil and then plant our community herb garden. If you’d like to volunteer to help you can email us on environment@lincoln.ac.uk.

Our focus will be Energy Saving for November, we’ll be sharing tips on how to save energy and reduce your carbon footprint (and cut your costs).

You can keep up with our sustainability news and events on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
