What goes into food waste?

Leftovers, including plate scraps

Tea bags

Egg shells

Coffee grounds

Fruit, vegetables and peelings
What not to put into the food waste bin:
Please do not put any of the below into the food waste bin:
- Used paper towels
- Empty food containers and packaging
- Wooden cutlery
- Large bones
- Liquids
- Oils
- Compostable/bamboo containers/plates
What goes into recycling?

Clean cardboard and paper

Empty drink cans & food tins

Empty cartons

Clean plastic pots, tubs & trays

Empty aerosol cans

Empty plastic bottles
What not to put into the recycling bin:
Please do not put any of the below into the recycling bin:
- Shredded paper
- Coffee cups
- Compostable food containers/plates
- Till receipts
- Contaminated paper/cardboard (food/oil/grease/paint)
- Tissues/paper towels/kitchen roll
- Sandwich wrappers/dirty takeaway food containers
- Crisp packets/sweet wrappers
What goes into general waste?

Single use packaging (compostable / polystyrene)

Single use, empty coffee cups

Sweet/chocolate wrappers

Paper towels/ tissues

Single use cutlery/plates

Empty crisp packets
What not to put into the general waste bin:
Please do not put any of the below into the general waste bin:
- Paper
- Cardboard
- Food waste
- Plastic bottles
- Plastic pots, trays and tubs
- Food and drink cans
- Liquids
What goes into the glass bin?

Clean glass bottles (all colours)

Clean glass jars (all colours)
What not to put into the glass recycling bin:
Please do not put any of the below into the glass recycling bin:
- Crockery
- Glasses/pyrex/sheet glass
- Metals (inluding bottle/jar lids)
- Mirrors
- Lightbulbs
