Schools Cross Country – Friday 1 December

On Friday 1 December, we are pleased to welcome back the Lincolnshire Schools Cross Country event, featuring over 10 schools, and up to 400 students at Riseholme Park.

The Cross Country will take place around the Parkland (Old Golf Course) and also the top permissive footpath. Activity will be taking place around the fields up the track from the Rural Science Centre.

There will be a Tannoy system in place up the track, where race announcements will take place. There may be some intermittent noise disruption, but we found last year that this was manageable. Coaches will enter site via the Riseholme Lane entrance and traffic will be managed by the race organisers, these will be staggered. The busiest traffic times will be at about 09:00 – 10:00 and 13:00 – 14:00 respectively.

Staff are advised if they are travelling by car to enter/exit site via the Lawress Hall road during the races.

Parts of the top permissive footpath will be closed for all except race participants during this event. There may be some intermittent disruption to access of the public bridleway, but race organisers will ensure there is still access – walkers may just have to wait for a few minutes at a time.

We are advising staff not to park at the car park adjacent to the Rural Science Centre on this date and to use the car parks elsewhere on campus.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us at riseholmeparkfarm@lincoln.ac.uk if you have any queries.
