Essential investigative works will be taking place on the southern side of the Brayford Campus this weekend to identify a substantial leak. This means that there will be a short water shutdown on Saturday 22nd January. Water will be off between 06:00 – 10:00.
The following buildings will be closed whilst these works take place:
- Witham House
- Lincoln Performing Arts Centre
- Lincoln Medical School
- Nicola de la Haye Building
- Peter de Wint Building
- Students’ Union
- Isaac Newton Building
- University Library
The Enterprise Building will remain open as building users will be able to use water in the Sparkhouse.
An initial excavation will be carried out behind Peter de Wint/LPAC on Friday 21st January to allow the pipe to be clamped and find out what half of the southeast quadrant the leak is on. No water is to be switched off until Saturday morning.
Once this has been established, contractors will be able to work on that section of pipe to find the exact location of the leak and plan future works to dig down to repair.
Following these works, buildings will reopen at 10:00 and contractors will be checking water supply has reinstated properly to all buildings.
