Level Crossing Diversion Routes

The Eastern Approach, the pedestrian route between the Minerva Building and the street (Brayford Wharf East), and the Level Crossing are currently closed whilst Network Rail build the new pedestrian footbridge over the crossing. There is no pedestrian access to either of these routes during this time. We will continue to share updates from Network Rail as we receive them.

Pedestrian access to the entrances of University buildings on Brayford Wharf East (DCB, SSB & Witham Wharf) will be maintained throughout the ongoing Network Rail works. Access to the car park behind the David Chiddick building will also be maintained. Network Rail’s website can be found here.

Please be aware that it may take longer to move across campus and allow ample time to move between locations. The below campus map details alternative routes around the Brayford Campus during disruptive works. Please click on the image to download the PDF version of the map.

While the work is taking place there may be increased noise levels on the eastern side of the campus. To minimise disruption to studies we recommend that students utilise the many quiet study spaces that are available. A map of these can be accessed here.

There will be an increased demand for the bridges linking both sides of the University campus and an increased demand on lifts. Please ensure that the lifts are available for those who need them most. Anyone who requires support or assistance should contact a member of Security on site or by phone 01522 886062.

Thank you for your patience whilst this work is being undertaken.
