Environment Agency Flood Management Works – From Monday 19th April

From Monday 19th April, the Environment Agency will be conducting essential works to reinforce the banks of the Fossdyke Canal close to the Brayford Pool Campus as part of a major programme of flood defence improvements across the county.
The main works will be taking place on the Foss Bank, on the opposite side of the canal to the University. The Environment Agency’s site compound will be located on the car park adjacent to Court 1 of the Student Village. There will be some increased vehicle traffic down Campus Way and alongside the canal, as well as pontoons on the water to provide contractors with access to the Foss Bank.
Work will take place between 08:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday and is expected to be completed before the 2021/22 academic year begins. Please do be aware of the potential increase in vehicles using Campus Way and follow any local signage or instructions.
The University’s Estates department is in contact with the Environment Agency and mitigations are in place to minimise disruption to students or staff.
If you have any concerns, please contact accommodation or estates@lincoln.ac.uk
