February Sustainability Round Up

Our February campaign has been Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”, with a focus on the “reduce” aspect, whether that be by travelling sustainably, shopping second hand, or ditching plastic in the supermarket.

We ran three events around sustainable transport on the Brayford Campus, and were kindly joined by Access Lincoln. This was in response to the current works disrupting the regular walking routes and as part of our campaign for this month – to reduce your impact on the environment!

We spoke to staff and students about better ways to travel into and around campus. Including, taking advantage of the CycLIN scheme, which provides affordable transport for a small deposit, and promoting the LiftShare, which aims to reduce the number of cars on campus. Access Lincoln brought lent their large cycle map of the city to us so that we were able to point out the best travel routes around Lincoln.

The biggest event of the month was obviously Fairtrade Fortnight, which runs from the last week in February through to the first week in March. In our March roundup, we’ll post photos and information about what our team was up to!

Our campaign in  March is focused on Community Collaboration.
